SKEL | The AI lab

SKEL (Software & Knowledge Engineering Lab) is one of the largest research labs at the National Centre for Scientific Research Demokritos (NCSR Demokritos), the biggest interdisciplinary public research centre in Greece. On a national level, it is one of the largest Artificial Intelligence labs, with more than 70 researchers, organised in 9 research groups and teams.

SKEL focuses on content analysis and intelligent human-computer interaction, exploiting and advancing Artificial Intelligence methods and tools in numerous domains, spanning from news monitoring to ehealth and document intelligence.

The continuously growing interest in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, provides a tremendous competitive advantage for the Lab. Our researchers have established the Lab as a reference point, not only for its technologies, but also for their applications in selected domains, exploiting the expertise and multidisciplinary nature of NCSR Demokritos.
